Academic advisors play an integral role in supporting students who are experiencing academic difficulty. Advisors meet with students who are in the probation process to clarify expectations and to assist them in their efforts to create an action plan to regain satisfactory academic standing. Additionally, students in the probation process must meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for courses in subsequent semesters. If a student’s GPA drops below 2.0 and they accumulate 13+ quality deficit points, they are placed in a dismissal pending status. Advisors meet with dismissal pending students to determine if there are extenuating circumstances impacting academic performance and to clarify next steps.
