“I went to community college my first two years and did really well. When I transferred to UD, everything was different. I was living in the residence hall and the people around me partied a lot. I was going to class, working often and it was just too easy to go out with everyone else. Needless to say, I kind of bombed my first semester. I didn’t realize how badly until I got the probation letter. I met with my assistant dean. She worked with me to set up a schedule, get tutoring and stay on track. I met with her every week that semester and then every other week the following fall. I still drop in to see her every once-in-a-while, but now it’s to share good news. I graduate at the end of this semester!”
